Film Care & Maintenance
Proper care will help maintain the appearance and performance of your Black Armor Window Film.
- Do not operate your windows for at least 48 hours after installation.
- Do not clean the inside of the glass during the curing period, which is typically 21 days.
- A hazy or milky appearance, along with small moisture bubbles, may be visible shortly after installation. This is a normal part of the curing process and will gradually disappear. Curing may take longer during colder weather.
- After curing, a small number of tiny particles or "micro-dots" may remain visible from certain angles. These are a normal characteristic of window film adhesive systems and will not affect the appearance, performance or longevity of the film.
- Once fully cured, clean the film using an ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft microfibre cloth. Do not use abrasive cloths, brushes, powders, blades or ammonia-based cleaners.
- Take care when unbuckling your seatbelt to prevent it from striking the glass, as this may scratch the film. Likewise, avoid allowing sharp or abrasive objects to come into contact with the tinted surface.
Lifetime Warranty
Black Armor Window Films are backed by a Lifetime Warranty when installed within the legal Visible Light Transmission (VLT) limits applicable in your state or territory.
This warranty covers manufacturing defects including:
- Peeling
- Bubbling
- Cracking
- Delamination
- Discolouration
- Adhesive failure for as long as you own the vehicle.
This warranty is non-transferable and is limited to the replacement of the affected window film and associated labour costs.
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
- Scratches or impact damage
- Glass breakage or glass failure
- Water leaks or moisture ingress unrelated to the film
- Abuse, misuse or improper care
- Stickers, suction cups or other items attached to the film
- Accidents or external damage
- Normal wear and tear
- Any consequential or incidental loss
Proof of purchase and current vehicle ownership will be required when making a warranty claim.
MAKING A WARRANTY CLAIM
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and approval by Black Armor.
To make a claim, please contact Black Armor using the contact us page on our website, you will need to provide,
- Your original warranty card.
- Proof of purchase from the original authorised installation dealer.
Warranty claims can only be assessed and serviced by the original Black Armor authorised installation studio that completed the installation.
