CARE & MAINTENANCE
Proper care of your Black Armor Titan Paint Protection Film (PPF) will help maintain its clarity, performance, and longevity. Follow these guidelines to get the most from your paint protection film.
AFTER INSTALLATION
Wait at least 3 days before:
- Washing your vehicle
- Waxing or polishing
- Using a pressure washer
This allows the film to fully cure and bond to the vehicle's surface.
WASHING GUIDELINES
- Wash using a pH-neutral automotive shampoo.
- Use a soft sponge or microfiber wash mitt.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry with a clean microfiber towel or allow the vehicle to air dry.
STAIN & CONTAMINANT REMOVAL
For bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap, or water spots:
- Remove contaminants as soon as possible using warm water and a mild automotive shampoo.
- For stubborn contaminants, use a PPF-safe cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first.
WAXING & POLISHING
- Wax may be applied after 30 days.
- Use only waxes or sealants that do not contain petroleum distillates or abrasive compounds.
Avoid polishing or buffing along the edges of the film.
THINGS TO AVOID
- Abrasive brushes or scouring pads.
- Automatic car washes with spinning brushes.
- Harsh chemicals such as degreasers, tar removers, or strong solvents.
- Directing high-pressure water at the edges of the film.
- Picking or lifting the edges or corners of the film.
- Automatic car washes with hot wax or aggressive drying systems.
- Parking for extended periods beneath trees that drop sap or in areas heavily frequented by birds.
LONG-TERM MAINTENANCE
- Regularly inspect the film for lifting edges or signs of damage.
- Apply a PPF-safe coating (optional) for added protection.
- If the film becomes damaged, have it inspected and repaired by an authorised Black Armor installation studio.
